Reinstating the Draft, Good or Bad Idea
While on my dad’s Facebook page I saw this article, Gen. McChrystal’s Remarks on Reinstating the Draft and it made me think. Are drafts always bad. While the idea of forced military service never seems to be a good idea at times it can be. What a draft does is give all citizens an interest in the military interests of the country. If you knew that there was a possibility of being forced to join the military then you would pay attention to the politics of your country, and want to know what is going on and why. It isn’t about those other people who are in the military, it’s about you and your friends. What it does is give a country a shared interest in the events of its governmnet. I would love to hear your opinions.
