I would call myself a recliner athlete, especially after spraining my ankle, so I have been enjoying watching the Olympics. I feel a rush of excitement as the American water polo team wins their match, and yes even though I knew Michael Phelps had already won the Olympic record for the most number of medals, I held my breath watching his races. And I nearly cried watching those gymnasts win the gold remembering my childhood and the 1997 team. Why do we do this, counties as a whole taking a two-week pause to watch sports. I think it is a reminder, that there is more than one kind of greatness, audits how’s what hard work and determination can do. I also believe that human beings want something to cheer for,and the Olympics is something great to cheer for.
