I know I know I am really being on my times. The US and Nato have come in to establish a no-fly zone and we have begun fighting in Libya. Is this a good thing or a bad thing?
What is America, and the rest of the world’s real motivations? The truth is I think this altruistic act lies somewhere between altruism and oil. Really? Libya supplies a good percentage of the oil to Italy, an EU country, and this man has become crazy enough to kill his own people. Couple that with the fact that this country lies between two states that have just had peaceful-ish revolutions I think that it was in the West‘s best interest to go into Libya, but for how long?
How long should we be there, til the crazy tyrant is gone, or until he promises to stop killing his own people? I think there is a lot at stake, including Obama’s reputation and we all need to be very careful how we step.
