Wash Your Hands Like Your Life Depended on It

Coronavirus is scary. I know that is extremely simple to say, but I am a mom of a toddler. Coronavirus (COVID-19) was found in Wuhan China in January 2020 and has spread worldwide. These are the numbers reported by the World Health Organization as of March 6, 2020. These are the numbers reported by the United State Center of Disease Control as of March 5, 2020.

Because coronavirus is scary, we are taking normal precautions. My son and I had been sick with colds for the last two weeks of February. So we stayed inside, to not spread our cold virus. Trying to keep a toddler from sticking his hands in his mouth, and not to rub his eyes is practically impossible, especially while he has a cold. Luckily he likes to play in the water. So we have been washing our hands, a lot.

My husband and I have been disinfecting surfaces that we had been touching with our cold germs. We are trying to teach our son that it is normal to wash our hands before we eat, and after we use the bathroom (or change his diaper). We have been washing his hands after we go outside and play. Right now we are trying to figure out how to keep ourselves safe from this virus, from other viruses, and not to become shut-ins.

Keep yourself safe and clean. Wash your hands and wash your children’s hands.
