Drama Quisling
Tucker Carlson’s detractors have used many pejorative terms to describe him. Here’s another.
Vidkun Quisling was a Norwegian army officer who founded a fascist party in Norway in 1933. After Germany invaded Norway in 1940, Quisling headed the sham government ran by Germany’s occupation force.
‘Quisling’ became a description of anyone who sided with an oppressor over their own people and ideals.
C. S. Lewis, Winston Churchill, George Orwell, and H. G. Wells all used ‘Quisling’ to describe backstabbing betrayers in their writings.
Recently, Fox host Tucker Carlson has asked, “Why is it disloyal to side with Russia but loyal to side with Ukraine?”
In siding with authoritarian Russian leader Putin, Carlson argued that democratic Ukraine is “strategically irrelevant” to the U.S.
“Why shouldn’t I root for Russia? Which I am.” said Carlson.
The Urban Dictionary defines a ‘drama quisling’ as “A person who rejects his own’s peoples values, policies and society and who loudly seeks public attention while promoting the cause of his own side’s enemies. A useful idiot who is an attention whore.”
Tucker Carlson is a Drama Quisling.
