Self-proclaimed #KingofInstagram Dan Bilzerian is running for President. Honestly, I didn’t know this was real–his announcement looks fake:
Bilzerian is a Florida native. He joined the Navy SEALs in 2000. According to Bilzerian, he was dropped from the program for “no good reason.” But according to SOFREP.com, he was dropped because of safety violations on the gun range. Once he completed his military career, he attended the University of Florida.
Bilzerian is most known for his poker career. His largest win was in 2009 during the World Series of Poker. He parlayed his fame from being a professional poker player into acting and then Instagram notoriety. In 2013, he began documenting his life on Instagram, showing his lavish life. Bilzerian claims he has had 2 heart attacks before the age of 32 due to his insane life.
This man has had some strange legal trouble recently. The most peculiar of his troubles, in my opinion, is where he threw a porn actress off the roof of his house and into his pool. She broke her foot and sued Bilzerian & Hustler. The issue hasn’t been settled.
He has done a small amount of philanthropy by helping Las Vegas foster parents Brian and Nicole Hammond financially take care of their 6 foster children.
Bilzerian announced his candidacy on June 24, 2015. I haven’t been able to find a political affiliation, a set of beliefs, or a campaign platform–he seems to be against gun control, according to his Instagram. He has plenty of merch though. Kind of thinking this is a campaign stunt.
