Posted on

With all of the news cycle being focused on the President’s Impeachment and the fall out from that, let us not forget that there is still a presidential election in November of 2020, and the first caucus is in a bit over a month (February 7th to be exact).

Who’s still running for President (In Alphabetical Order)

According to Real Clear Politics NATIONALLY, former Vice President Biden is winning in the polls with 27.8 points, Sanders has 19.3, Warren 15.2 Buttigieg is at 8.3, Bloombergerg with 5.0 points, Klobuchar and Yang both has 3.3 points.

As we know though, from the 2016 election, it’s not about national numbers it’s about states and the electoral college. In Iowa Buttigieg is winning with 22.0 points with Sanders just trailing him with 20.0, and in New Hampshire Sanders is winning with 19.0 points and Buttigieg is in second with 17.7 points. So while National polling is what gets you on stage in the debates, it is winning about individual states in order to win the nomination.

What is interesting is because Speaker Pelosi is holding the Impeachment up in the House, the currently serving Senators may have to haul their presidential campaigns at any point for an impeachment trial. This will give other candidates a chance to move up in the polls.

Don’t forget to register to vote early, so you can participate in your primary election, and vote. There are more elections than just the presidential. Let’s see what 2020 will bring to this crazy political landscape.
