Stop Blaming Garland: The Election Outcome is on the Voters

Democrats and media analysts continue to assign blame for the election outcome, now targeting Attorney General Merrick Garland for the suspension of criminal cases against Donald Trump. Many argue that Garland should have initiated prosecutions sooner.

However, the pursuit of justice required Garland to be impartial, careful, and thorough in handling these cases. Under his leadership, the Department of Justice was on the brink of holding Trump accountable for election subversion and the mishandling of classified documents.

Then came the election.

The suspension of these cases is not Garland’s fault. The prosecutions against Trump were paused because voters chose to disregard his criminal misdeeds and re-elected him as president, granting him immunity from prosecution during his term of office. Garland’s DOJ did not let Trump evade justice—America’s voters did.

It was widely known that Trump faced multiple felony charges, yet he was elected anyway. Those who cast their votes for Trump—and those who chose not to vote at all—bear responsibility for this outcome. Justice was denied not by Garland, but by the American people.

So, stop blaming Garland and take a hard look in the mirror, America. As Shakespeare wisely observed, “The fault… is not in our stars, but in ourselves.”

Thanks and a tip of the hat
